Dear Self,
Quit trying to build a mountain before you build a molehill. In fact, build your mountain one molehill at a time.
What I’m saying Self is, don’t make your idea so complicated that it slips from reality, requiring you to build a rocket and launch it to the moon and back! Ummm… that’s too many logistics for your small brain to piece together at once.
Don’t build a mountain out of your idea until you know you can climb the small molehill that’s in front of you.
Self, start simple…. Start with one small achievable step. Once you’re comfortable and skilled with that one small thing, then add another piece to it, and build upon it piece by piece.
Great achievements are won one small victory at a time.
Your brain has this crazy trigger-happy capacity to blow things up, way out of proportion.
A brain explosion takes an idea and adds so many details and objectives to it that it tumbles and crashes off the wall, creating a humpty dumpy mess that’s not easy to put back together.
Self, tell your brain to keep its feet on the ground and not try to launch a rocket to the moon!
Even though a molehill doesn’t look that exciting at the moment… put enough molehills together and you can build yourself a mountain.
Self, I have confidence in you and in your idea. What molehill are you going to build today?
