James 1:2-4 (NIV): “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.“
What does faith look like? It looks like trust… Putting your trust in God for every aspect of your life.
Once you experience faith, no doubt about it, your faith will be tested! Allow that testing to strengthen and anchor your faith; to sharpen it and transform it, so it continues to grow.
Don’t let your faith waver and slip out of your fingers based on circumstances. Hang onto it tight, so that it becomes stronger and stronger.
Faith builds perseverance and perseverance has a job to do: To perfect you.
Faith isn’t real if it’s easy. Faith is difficult because you have to stand on what you can’t touch, see or hear. But, in the end, it will make you complete… it will fill in those missing pieces in your life.
What does faith mean? Does it mean your every wish and desire will be granted… just like a genie in a bottle? No, it means even if you have nothing, you have everything. You have the presence of God, the Holy Spirit by your side, giving you strength, wisdom and purpose.
Don’t worry about what the outcome will be. Just believe in the One who holds your future in His hands. His hands are big enough to hold you and help you navigate through whatever is in front of you.
Trust in Him. Together, with God, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
