Dear Self,
I gotcha a Christmas gift this year, but it’s not just an ordinary gift, it’s an amazing gift!
Self, ordinary gifts are nice, but you and I both know (oh yeah, I’m you!) that over time those gifts lose their luster and eventually get stashed in the closet or given to Goodwill.
Self, I’m giving you a gift that can’t be wrapped in pretty Christmas paper. In fact, it’s invisible… yet it’s more real than the stuff you can hold in your hands. It’s the real deal when it comes to a meaningful and lasting gift.
Self, inside this gift is the gift of forgiveness. Forgiveness from the guilt of all your mistakes and bad choices. A completely clean slate that erases all the bad and starts writing beautiful things into your life.
Inside this gift is the gift of grace. It can’t be earned by anything you do or say. It’s given to you in spite of you. It’s the gift of unearned grace and acceptance.
Inside this gift is the gift of love. But it’s not an “I’ll love you if you love me back” kind of love. It’s the purest form of love that died a brutal death on the cross to take your place and pay the ultimate punishment for your sins. This love painfully traded your darkness for His amazing light.
Inside this gift is the gift of a relationship and close communion with the Creator of the Universe. Jesus closed the gap between you and God so that you can know and approach Him on a personal level, without any separation.
Inside this gift is the gift of forever. This is a lasting gift that starts with today but doesn’t have an ending point. It extends further than your earthly life and stretches into forever.
But Self, there is one condition with this gift. You need to reach out and take it… to choose the gift of life He is offering you. In accepting this gift from Jesus, you will discover a true and more meaningful life of freedom and purpose.
Self, it’s up to you to unwrap this gift to see what’s in it. What you’ll find is God’s goodness, forgiveness, grace and love all wrapped up in the perfect gift for Christmas.
